What is your compass pointing at

Last few days, sitting on the side, watching, not doing , it was a kind of stillness that makes you wonder what you actually want to be doing.

Over the weekend, I saw Pirates of the Caribbean. And there it was - Captain Jack Sparrow's compass.

Jack Sparrow's compass is unusual. It doesn't point to true north. It points to what the heart truly desires.

As we grow - in role, in responsibility, in the habit of being needed, I think we stop consulting our compass. The direction we follow starts to come from expectation, from the role, from what has always worked before. And after a while, we stop noticing the difference between what the role wants and what we want.

The compass is still there. Still pointing. The question is when did you last check it, and were you brave enough to follow what it showed?
